Parents seek treatment when one or more of their children are troubled or troubling. They want help for their children but also wish to become part of the solution by learning to be better parents.  Training programs have given short shrift to parenting and most graduated therapists struggle to find their own way. This course is intended to fill that gap with a comprehensive method usable when helping the complete spectrum of families, ranging from ones just planning to have children, to parents whose children, of whatever age, are extremely troubled or difficult.

Over the past 30 years, reading, thinking and through trial and error while working with hundreds of families, Dr. Robertson has developed a method that brings parents to successfully manage current problems but it also includes anticipating the nature of future problems and, through creating lasting improvements in the parents, prepares them for what lies ahead.  A specific approach will be taught. To briefly preview, it includes interweaving information gathering, understanding, therapeutic responsiveness and teaching built around a structural core.
